Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a qualified nurse to deliver direct dialysis patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. You will monitor treatments, educate patients and families, and respond to emergencies under RN supervision.

The role requires a practical nursing credential, active state licensure, CPR, and the ability to coordinate with a multidisciplinary team. Travel to area facilities may be required; a supportive, patient-centered culture is emphasized.

Qualifications

• One year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required.
• ICU experience preferred but not required.
• CPR Certification is required.
• Nurses Technical Training Program must be completed upon hire or soon thereafter.
• Ability to provide coverage at area facilities during short-staffing periods or as required.
• Ishihara Color Blindness test may be a condition of employment.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for dialysis patients.
• Perform all dialysis procedures as prescribed and monitor treatment plans.
• Monitor and document dialysis parameters and update patient records.
• Educate patients and families about ESRD, dialysis therapy, diet and medications.
• Initiate basic CPR and respond to emergencies related to dialysis treatment.
• Coordinate care with physicians, dietitians and social workers; participate in care planning.
