Job summary

Select Medical Milwaukee is seeking a Dialysis (HD) Technician to join our patient-centered team. You will support safe and effective dialysis therapy under RN supervision, performing setup, monitoring, documentation, and post-treatment tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role requires at least 6 months of HD tech experience, a CCHT, and CMS-certified credentials, with BLS and state licensure as applicable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. and at least 6 months’ experience as hemodialysis technician required.
• CCHT required.
• CMS approved state and/or national certification required.
• Licensure, education and training per state requirements.
• Meets Ishihara Color Blindness Test requirements.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Functions as part of the hemodialysis team in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy under RN supervision.
• Prepare for dialysis treatment and document appropriately.
• Set up the Tablo device and enter dialysis prescriptions.
• Evaluate vascular access and report findings to the HD RN.
• Cannulate vascular access and report difficulties to the HD RN.
• Record vital signs and treatment data per policy.
• Monitor machine safety and alarms; report changes to the HD RN.
• Communicate patient condition changes to the HD RN.
• Monitor intradialytic problems and intervene as prescribed by order.
• Assess vascular access pressures and document observations.
• Prepare for discontinuation and terminate dialysis as procedures dictate.
• Oversee disinfection of equipment and maintain dialysis machines.
• Obtain and label specimens for prescribed labs.
