Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Oakland, CA seeks a Nurse Education and Training Specialist to deliver competency-based training across nephrology programs, including orientation, preceptor training, and in-services to promote quality patient care. The role partners with regional and facility leaders to ensure safety and clinical excellence.

The position involves 35–80% travel, requires RN licensure in the primary state and the ability to obtain licenses for assigned states.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in primary state; must obtain licensure in assigned states as directed.
• Minimum 1-year dialysis experience as a Registered Nurse.
• CPR BLS certification and ongoing education/ training.
• CDN or CNN certification preferred or to be attained within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Aligns with regional, group, and corporate goals through all activities.
• Adheres to nursing practice standards, policy, compliance, regulatory and ethical requirements.
• Promotes patient safety, clinical quality goals and positive patient outcomes.
• Develops competency and skills to educate personnel in dialysis treatment programs.
• Educates staff using coaching and available technologies across modalities.
• Collaborates with partners to schedule, provide, and implement education programs.
• Utilizes varied teaching methods to deliver engaging learning experiences.
• Maintains open communication with internal and external customers.

Education

Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited School of Nursing

Advanced degree BSN or MSN (preferred)

Current RN state licensure in primary state of residence

Obtain and maintain RN state licensure in assigned states as directed

Must meet the practice requirements in the state of employment

Minimum 1-year dialysis experience as a Registered Nurse

CDN or CNN (preferred) or must attain within 18 months of employment

CPR BLS Certification (required)
