UP TO A $2,000 SIGN ON BONUS FOR CERTIFIED DIALYSIS CLINICAL TECHNICIANS


We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Dialysis Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work in patient care and a passion for helping individuals with kidney disease. As a Clinical Dialysis Technician, you will play a vital role in providing dialysis treatments and ensuring the well-being of our patients.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:


St. Joseph Dialysis is an outpatient dialysis facility. The facility oversees peritoneal and home dialysis patients. Census is 98 incenter patients.


The department is staffed with Nephrologists, Registered Nurses, and Dialysis Clinical Technicians. The unit has multiple support staff members including the front desk team and tech leader staff (machine maintenance) that may assist with operational duties within the clinic.


Our team provides patient education as well as referrals to transplant services for sites the patient requests to be referred to.


The unit is typically open Monday through Saturday 5:00 am to 5:30 pm for patient care hours with some flexibility based on the clinic's needs.


GENERAL SUMMARY:



  • Perform dialysis treatments according to prescribed protocols and physician orders.

  • Monitor patients during dialysis treatment, assessing vital signs and responding to any changes in condition.

  • Set up and operate dialysis machines, including performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as needed.

  • Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed by the physician.

  • Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures, dietary restrictions, and self-care techniques.

  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including documenting treatment activities and patient progress.

  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards in the dialysis unit.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Completion of a dialysis technician training program preferred.

  • Certification as a Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) required within 18-months of employment.
