Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Dialysis - In House unit in Chapel Hill, NC. The nurse will provide competent clinical nursing care, coordinate patient care using the nursing process, and report to the Nurse Manager/Director.

Responsibilities include education, evaluation of care, implementation of complex patient care, leadership, patient assessment, planning, and ongoing research to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing is required.
• Licensed to practice as an RN in North Carolina.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment and obtain a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a Master's degree in Nursing within seven years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Education – Identifies and meets learning needs of self; attends education programs and uses patient education materials.
• Evaluation of Care – Identifies expected patient outcomes and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to optimize care.
• Implementation – Delivers care to patients with complex problems and uses care plans, policies and procedures.
• Leadership – Supports unit goals, promotes safe care, and communicates effectively within the team.
• Patient Assessment – Synthesizes assessment data to plan care and anticipates discharge needs.
• Planning – Develops and updates the plan of care with the patient/family and multidisciplinary resources.
• Research – Reads journals and shares ideas with staff for applicability.

Education

Graduation from a school of professional nursing

RN licensure in North Carolina

Bachelor's degree in Nursing within 4 years or Master's in Nursing within 7 years

BLS for Healthcare Provider certification
