Job description

Title: Dialysis Chronic Care Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Duration: 13 weeks

Requirements:
  • 12 months or more of recent dialysis experience
Purpose and Scope:

This position is responsible for providing and coordinating clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. It involves delegation of tasks to care staff and participation in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and facility operations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform duties in accordance with policies, standards, and regulations.
  • Collect and analyze patient data during dialysis and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Provide patient and family education.
  • Administer medications and respond to emergencies.
  • Participate in staff training and ensure proper laboratory procedures.
  • Update care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensure patient awareness of treatment options.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Includes heavy lifting, prolonged standing, movement of equipment, exposure to infectious materials, and travel to training sites or other facilities.

Supervision:

Oversight of care staff as a Team Leader or Nurse in Charge, after meeting experience and training requirements.

Education and Licensure:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current state licensure and CPR/BLS certification.
Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 1 year nephrology nursing experience in the last two years.
  • Chronic hemodialysis experience required.
  • Floating to sites within 50 miles is required.
Shift Details:

Shifts will be discussed during the interview. The role requires 40+ hours/week, with a minimum guarantee of 36 hours. Overtime and floating are required; no guaranteed hours if restrictions or refusals apply.
