Job summary

Alaska-Dialysis in Wasilla, AK is seeking an energetic Charge Nurse to lead our dialysis clinic team and oversee patient care. You will perform nursing assessments, initiate and monitor dialysis, and mentor staff while coordinating with the multidisciplinary team to meet patient plans.

A minimum of 1 year in clinical nursing with dialysis experience is required; ICU experience is a plus. Shifts are 3–5 per week, 8–12 hours, starting as early as 0500, with relocation assistance and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification.
• Minimum 1 year in clinical nursing; additional 6 months of experience providing nursing care to patients on maintenance dialysis (for Charge Nurse role).
• ICU experience preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Good communication skills – verbal and written
• Ability to organize with multiple interruptions/distractions
• Working knowledge of MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of patient care, directly or via delegation, including admissions, transfers, discharges, nursing assessments, and dialysis initiation/monitoring.
• Complete daily rounds to ensure patient needs are met and staff follow physician orders; mentor nurses and dialysis technicians.
• Develop or contribute to care plans to achieve desired clinical outcomes.
• Ensure new patient assessments are conducted by the multidisciplinary team.
• Review data and ensure accurate medical record documentation reflecting patient changes.
• Educate patients to participate actively in their care.
• Participate in patient rounds with medical staff and communicate patient needs clearly.
• Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
