Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Tacoma, WA seeks a Dialysis Technician to join the dialysis health care team under RN supervision. You will assist in the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines and ensure a safe, clean treatment environment.

You will monitor patient responses, record vital signs, document treatments, and help with therapy initiation and discontinuation per physician orders. The role emphasizes infection control and teamwork in patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CMS/state certification requirements within the required timeline.
• Ability to operate and monitor hemodialysis machines safely.
• Experience in patient care with infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and assess wellbeing at each treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and cannulation; administer heparin as delegated.
• Record pre/post vital signs, weight, and treatment data accurately.
• Initiate and discontinue dialysis per orders; monitor response to therapy.
• Maintain safety alarms and document treatment details.
• Clean and disinfect dialysis surfaces and equipment between treatments.
• Support training and infection control education as directed.
