Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in the United States is seeking a dialysis technician to function as part of the dialysis health care team under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. You will be responsible for the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines and contribute to maintaining a safe, clean work environment.

The role supports the organization’s Quality Enhancement Program and CQI activities, driving patient satisfaction and process improvements to achieve QEP goals.

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire about wellbeing.
• Evaluate vascular access patency, cannulation, and administer heparin as delegated.
• Obtain pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight; evaluate access pre-treatment.
• Initiate dialysis per orders including QB and QD.
• Monitor patient response to dialysis therapy and document.
• Record treatment parameters on Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet.
• Disinfect equipment and clean area between treatments.
• Assist in training direct patient care staff under RN supervision.
