Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a dialysis patient care technician to join our team. The role involves assisting in the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, monitoring patients during treatment, and maintaining a safe treatment environment.

You will document vital signs, manage pre/post-treatment assessments, and support CQI activities as part of a comprehensive care team. A High School diploma or G.E.D., along with CPR certification and relevant state licensure, are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• CMS-approved state and/or national certification within the required state or CMS timeline.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training required.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document vital signs and weight before and during treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access patency and cannulation; administer heparin as delegated or allowed by state law.
• Initiate dialysis per prescribed orders; monitor treatment and respond to intradialytic issues.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure safety alarms are enabled.
• Assist in staff training and ensure accurate record keeping.
