Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in New York seeks a dedicated dialysis teammate to support safe, effective therapy under licensed nurse supervision. You will set up and operate hemodialysis machines, keep a safe, clean environment, and participate in CQI activities to improve patient care.

Responsibilities include patient care during treatment, monitoring vital signs, cannulation as delegated, documentation, infection control, education, and equipment preparation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• CMS/state certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing patients for dialysis and monitor vital signs.
• Perform vascular access cannulation and administer heparin as delegated or allowed by state law.
• Record treatment data accurately and document patient status.
• Maintain infection control and prepare sterile equipment between treatments.
• Support training of direct patient care staff under supervision of a nurse.
• Follow policies, ensure safe, clean environment and proper equipment setup.
