Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Dialysis Technician to join the team. The role involves setting up and operating dialysis machines, monitoring patient responses, and ensuring safety and accuracy in treatment documentation.

You will train under a nurse and travel locally as needed within the region, contributing to quality improvement and patient education. The position requires a high school diploma (or GED), CPR certification, and CMS certification as applicable, with prior patient care

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within CMS timeline.
• CPR certification required and maintained.
• Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist other health care members in providing patient education on adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM).
• Welcome assigned patients and inquire about wellbeing since last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and cannulation; administer heparin as delegated.
• Record vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters; document accurately.
• Initiate dialysis per orders (QB, QD) and monitor responses.
• Observe patient, perform safety checks, and report changes to RN or supervisor.
• Prepare and collect lab specimens; ensure lab specimen handling per policy.
