Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in California seeks a dedicated dialysis technician to provide safe hemodialysis therapy under RN supervision. You will assist with education, monitor and manage vascular access, and initiate dialysis per physician orders while ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include pre/post-treatment vital signs, UF/QB/QD tracking, infection control, and collaboration with the care team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes across facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist other health care members in educating patients about adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM).
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and cannulation; administer heparin as allowed.
• Obtain pre/post treatment vitals and weight; evaluate vascular access pre-treatment.
• Initiate dialysis per orders including QB and QD.
• Monitor patient response to dialysis and address intradialytic issues.
• Document all treatment data accurately on Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet.
• Ensure safety alarms are enabled and report any anomalies.
• Collect and prepare lab samples; ensure proper labeling and storage.
• Maintain infection control practices and environment cleanliness.
• Coordinate patient care during transitions and travel between facilities.
