Job summary

The University of Virginia seeks a Dialysis Technician to support patient care in dialysis services. You will contribute to the delivery of clinical operations related to kidney care, working with physicians, nurses, and staff.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma, preferred healthcare experience, and certification as a Patient Care Dialysis Technician within 18 months of hire. AHA BLS certification is also required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Experience: Previous health care experience preferred.
• Licensure: Certified as a Patient Care Dialysis Technician by a State Agency or Nationally Recognized Certification Program within 18 months of hire date.
• AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
• Certificates: CCHT, CHT, CCNT or equivalent licensure to practice as a dialysis technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist in dialysis procedures and patient care under supervision.
• Stand for long periods; assist with moving and lifting up to 50-100 lbs.
• Maintain safety with infection control and BLS protocols.
