Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Ohio seeks a dialysis patient care technician to support safe, efficient dialysis treatment under RN supervision. You will help set up machines, monitor patients, assess vascular access, perform cannulation and manage data entry.

You’ll maintain infection control and support quality improvement initiatives daily. Qualified candidates hold a high school diploma or GED and have strong teamwork, communication, and patient education skills to ensure high-quality patient

Qualifications

• Education to patients on dialysis adequacy measures and monitoring techniques.
• Assisting the health care team with patient care activities related to dialysis.
• Ensuring safety and cleanliness of the dialysis environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.
• Monitor vital signs and weight before/after treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access patency and cannulate as directed.
• Record treatment data and ensure accurate documentation.
• Administer heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law.
• Maintain infection control practices and clean environment.
• Communicate patient status to RN or supervisor.
• Support CQI activities and patient education.
