Job summary

John Crane, a business of Smiths Group, seeks a Diagnostics Engineer or Technical Specialist to deliver asset condition management services across the region. The role requires extensive vibration analysis experience, certification ISO 18436-2, and travel up to 40% within the US/Canada/Caribbean.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in vibration analysis for condition monitoring of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors).
• ISO 18436-2 Category 2 certification or equivalent; Category 3 is a big plus.
• Experience with rotating equipment and establishing Condition Monitoring programs.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% within US, Canada and Caribbean regions.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card.

Responsibilities

• Engage and influence global stakeholders from client leadership to technical experts.
• Consult with customers on reliability vision, strategy and roadmaps; implement new services.
• Develop and deliver plans to expand condition monitoring services with regional teams.
• Lead development of analysis databases and reporting systems (vibration, lubrication, etc.).
• Provide hands-on diagnostics including turbine vibration, motion amplification, and RCA.
• Support John Crane Sense Monitor customers and Indufil product line.

The Diagnostics Engineer or Technical Specialist is part of the Service Delivery Office (SDO) and responsible for providing technical support to the service organization in the life cycle (Initiation, Planning, Executing, Monitoring, and Closing) of John Crane’s Asset Condition Management projects across the region.

They will consult with the customer to identify needs to manage their assets condition, and work alongside the business development team to develop aligned value propositions. They will manage the execution of each project, working alongside the Contract Manager, on-site teams and local sales teams.

Responsibilities include but no limited to the following:

• Engaging and influencing global stakeholders from client leadership teams to technical experts.
• Consulting with customer on their reliability vision, strategy, & roadmap; creating plans to fulfil them by: Implementation of new services and Enhancements to existing programs.
• In alignment with the business strategy and with the Regional Contract Service Delivery Manager, develop and deliver plans to expand condition monitoring services. This includes personal development and tool specification.
• Implement Asset Condition Management services.
• Lead development of analysis databases and reporting systems (Vibration, Lubrication and others).
• Bad actor troubleshooting for Performance Plus contracts utilizing multiple condition monitoring technologies.
• Advanced/Niche Field Diagnostics Delivery, Technical analysis and reporting, this will be hands on diagnostics work including but not limited to Turbo machinery vibration analysis, Motion Amplification, and complex machinery troubleshooting and RCA.
• Vibration data analysis forJohn Crane Sense Monitor customers.
• Provide service and support for Indufil product line.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Engineering degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in vibration analysis for condition monitoring of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors).
• Vibration Analysis ISO 18436-2 Category 2, or equivalent certification required.
• Demonstrated experience working withrotating equipment, including pumps and turbo machinery and establishing Condition Monitoring programs.
• Languages: English (other languages beneficial).
• Vibration Analysis ISO 18436-2 Category 3 a big plus.
• Specialist skills in Lubrication Analysis ISO 18436-4 Category 2, or equivalent andCMRP / ARPE preferred.
• Experience working in a diverse environment with a global company is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

• Candidates must have the ability to travel up top 40% of the time within the US, Canada and Caribbean regions.
• Ability to get a TWIC card.
