Job summary

Multinational Company in Foster City, CA is seeking an experienced Diagnostics Engineer to design and implement control algorithms, state estimators, and model-based observers using C++ and Python. You will contribute to vehicle diagnostic systems, DTC management, and communication protocols.

You will validate functionality through HIL/SIL test frameworks and collaborate with cross-functional teams on vehicle architecture and bus strategies, ensuring robust diagnostics across automotive networks

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in diagnostics, embedded controls, or vehicle systems engineering.
• Solid knowledge of UDS (ISO 14229), DTC management, and OBD-II (SAE J1979).
• Experience with CAN, LIN and Automotive Ethernet networks.
• Proficiency in Python and C++ for algorithm development and validation.

Job description

• Develop, integrate, and maintain vehicle diagnostic systems, DTC management, and communication protocols.
• Validate diagnostic functionality using HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) test frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on vehicle architecture and communication bus strategies.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience: 6–8 years in diagnostics, embedded controls, or vehicle systems engineering (Automotive, AV, Aerospace, or Robotics).
• Protocols & Standards: Solid working knowledge of UDS (ISO 14229), DTC management, and OBD-II (SAE J1979).
• Networking: Experience with CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet protocols.
• Programming: Proficiency in Python and C++.
• Testing: Hands-on experience with HIL/SIL testing frameworks for diagnostic validation.
