Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an engineer to design and manage algorithms that analyze vehicle data streams to identify root causes of systemic issues. You will define data acquisition needs for onboard modules and ensure data capture for diagnostics while building Python scripts to query and categorize data from AWS and Google Cloud repositories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field as required.
• 3 years of relevant experience in the offered role.
• 3 years diagnosing 12-volt battery drainage or warranty claims using structured methods.
• 2 years using Vector CAN tools to analyze CAN logs.
• 2 years developing Python scripts for data analysis and automation.
• 2 years testing and validating complex vehicle systems.
• 1 year experience with automotive electrical architecture and cloud diagnostics.
• 1 year experience with cloud telemetry and standardized service processes.
• 1 year experience with 12V energy management in software-defined vehicles.
• 1 year experience querying large datasets from Azure Data Explorer, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Analyze system behaviors and potential failure modes to define and document data acquisition requirements for onboard vehicle modules
• Ensure necessary vehicle data is captured for effective analysis and diagnostics
• Develop Python scripts for automated querying, collection, and categorization of data from AWS and Google Cloud repositories
• Analyze vehicle CAN communication logs to diagnose complex behavioral faults and performance anomalies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
• 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation
• 3 years of experience diagnosing and resolving 12-volt battery drainage or warranty claims using structured quality methodologies, including 3-Legged 5-Why analysis
• 2 years of experience utilizing Vector CAN tools to analyze Controller Area Network logs
• 2 years of experience developing scripts and applications for data analysis, process automation, and software testing using Python
• 2 years of experience conducting testing and validation of complex vehicle systems
• 1 year of experience with automotive electrical architecture and cloud-based diagnostics
• 1 year of experience supporting cloud diagnostics, remote telemetry, and standardized service processes
• 1 year of experience with 12V electrical and energy management systems in software-defined vehicles
• 1 year of experience querying and analyzing large datasets from Azure Data Explorer, AWS, or Google Cloud
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
