Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking an Ultrasound Tech (FGP) for the Brooklyn, Fort Hamilton location. The role performs diagnostic sonographic exams using ultrasonic equipment across modalities to obtain quality images and records pertinent data.

Provides training and guidance to Ultrasound Technology students while maintaining patient safety and care standards. The ideal candidate holds a certificate from an approved ultrasound/vascular program and is ARDMS-eligible within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Certificate from an approved ultrasound/vascular technology education program.
• Registered or registry eligible to take the ARDMS Registry exam within 1 year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of hospital and radiology information systems; schedules exams; verifies and processes orders per HIPAA and department protocols.
• Directs and monitors student clinical training; guides and evaluates their progress during ultrasound procedures.
• Performs equipment setup, QC checks, and reports malfunctions per procedure manuals and safety standards.
• Implements patient procedures per departmental protocols; explains procedures to patients; adapts exams to maximize diagnostic information.
