Job summary

BJC Outpatient Imaging in Sunset Hills, MO seeks a Diagnostic Technologist I for a PRN shift. You will perform radiographic examinations, ensure patient safety, and deliver high-quality diagnostic images under the Radiology Medical Director’s guidance.

You will work with an imaging team focusing on orthopedic patients, operating in a brand-new outpatient center with modern digital imaging technology and a commitment to exceptional care. BLS is required within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of radiography technologist experience.
• Associates degree in Radiology or graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.
• ARRT certification in Radiography with current registration; state licensure and BLS within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations following imaging protocols.
• Produce high-quality images for physician interpretation.
• Review patient history and verify exam orders; prepare patients for procedures.
• Ensure patient safety and apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
• Administer contrast media and perform venipuncture as appropriate.
• Evaluate image quality and maintain patient documentation.
• Assist with fluoroscopic and interventional procedures as needed.
• Maintain equipment, QA standards, and exam room readiness.
• Educate patients and collaborate with physicians and team members.

BJC Outpatient Imaging is currently seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technologist for a PRN position at our brand-new outpatient imaging center in Sunset Hills, MO.

In this PRN role, you will provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a collaborative outpatient environment. The majority of our patient population consists of orthopedic patients, offering an exciting opportunity to work closely with a specialized patient base.

Position Status: PRN Schedule: As needed to provide PTO coverage for full-time technologists, including a rotating schedule of 1–2 half-day Saturdays per month Location: Sunset Hills, St. Louis, MO

About the Role:

As a Diagnostic Technologist I, you will perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations while delivering exceptional patient care. Working under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, you will utilize advanced digital imaging technology to produce accurate diagnostic images, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with physicians and the imaging team to provide outstanding clinical care.

Requirements

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Radiography Technologist

EDUCATION:

• Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current valid registration from ARRT. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice. BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Skill in operation of radiographic equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
• Ability to work independently and multitask.
• Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
• Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
