Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiography procedures using established protocols with minimal supervision.
• Operate advanced imaging equipment to acquire, analyze, and document image data.
• Adjust imaging protocols using independent judgment for diagnostic accuracy.
• Review patient histories and orders to obtain optimal results.
• Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal imaging protocols.
• Administer contrast per physician orders and departmental policies.
• Explain procedures to patients to ease concerns and gain cooperation.
• Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and respect in interactions with patients and staff.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure timely patient care.
• Ensure exams are properly coded, archived in RIS/ISITE, and billed correctly.

In this role, you’ll perform diagnostic imaging procedures while using your technical expertise, independent judgment, and attention to detail to help provide high-quality patient care.

What You’ll Do

As part of the imaging team, you will:

• Perform diagnostic radiography procedures using established protocols and procedures without requiring constant supervision.
• Operate advanced imaging equipment to acquire, analyze, manipulate, and document image data.
• Use independent judgment to adjust imaging protocols and appropriately apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
• Review patient histories and physician orders and follow departmental protocols to obtain optimal imaging results.
• Properly identify patients using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocol for imaging procedures.
• Administer oral and rectal contrast according to physician orders and departmental policies.
• Clearly explain procedures and instructions to patients, helping to ease concerns and encourage their comfort and cooperation throughout the exam.
• Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients, coworkers, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Collaborate across departments to support timely and efficient patient care.
• Ensure exams are properly coded and tracked through RIS, appropriately networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and accurately charged.
