Now Hiring: Key Whitman Eye Center - Dallas, TX

JOB TITLE: Diagnostic Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Diagnostic Technician works closely with clinic physicians to perform basic, advanced, and complex eye tests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform diagnostic tests such as OCT macula, OCT optic nerves, Lenstar, ORB scan, Optos Fundus photos, EPIC (OPD and glare), IMMERSION, HVF, and other related tests.
  • Assist with answering calls and emails, including triage, RX refills, and patient inquiries.
  • Familiarize with basic eye conditions and diseases.
  • Maintain and sterilize room and equipment.
  • Assist Technicians and Scribes as needed.
  • Administer topical ophthalmic medications and understand basic ocular pharmacology.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in ophthalmic field preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • JCAHPO certification preferred.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think quickly and work attentively.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in EMR and computer literacy.
  • Well-organized and attentive to detail.
  • Proficiency in a second language highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and compliance.
