Job summary

DriveTime Car Sales, LLC is looking for an experienced Automotive Technician in North Carolina to perform advanced automotive repairs and inspections on pre-owned vehicles. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience in light to medium line work, along with strong teamwork and detail-oriented skills.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Mechanically inspect vehicles for safety and drivability, documenting findings in the inventory management system.
  • Collaborate with Reconditioning Center Management to repair or reject inventory based on estimated repair costs and overall quality.
  • Perform advanced automotive repairs, mastering cooling, braking, charging, steering/suspension, AC, and electrical system components.
  • Identify and complete repairs effectively the first time to minimize re‑work and production delays.
  • Test‑drive repaired vehicles to confirm issues are resolved.
  • Work in ways that reduce the risk of injury to yourself and other team members by managing spills and hazardous conditions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience performing light to medium line work, including brakes, engine, steering/suspension, cooling, AC, and electrical.
  • ASE certification is a plus but not required.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate in a high‑functioning environment.
  • Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED. Vocational/technical degree or professional experience equivalent is acceptable.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Ability to own and manage personal tool set.
  • Proficiency in English communication for a safety‑sensitive, technical environment.
  • Capability to work on all makes and models, including domestic, European, and Asian vehicles.
