Job summary

SolvIT, Inc. is seeking a Diagnostic Specialist to apply automotive knowledge in a technology-focused environment in Rochester Hills, MI. The role involves guiding flash procedures released in wiTECH and authoring flash scripts for multiple service actions.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, analytical skills, and at least 5 years with diagnostic tools, plus knowledge of ECU reprogramming and automotive bus systems. This is an onsite position with standard business hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working with diagnostic scan tools.
• Background in service; Dealership or aftermarket shop.
• Understanding of ECU reprogramming procedures.
• Working knowledge of vehicle electrical architectures.
• Knowledge of CAN, J1850, K-Line and other automotive bus systems.
• Knowledgeable with enhanced diagnostic communication protocols such as KWP2000 and UDS.

Work Schedule:40 hours per week. Monday - Friday, standard business hours.

Location: 2831 Research Drive, Rochester Hills, MI 48309 - This is a fully onsite position.

What does the Diagnostic Specialist do?

Our Diagnostic Flash team is currently seeking an individual to provide guided flash procedures to be released in wiTECH to help ensure dealers are correctly completing an applicable service action.

What you will be doing:

Define processes to author flash scripts in wiTECH Studio

Provide flash scripts authored in wiTECH Studio for at least 25 existing service actions by end of year

Provide flash scripts for new service actions as needed

What makes you qualified:

What makes you an All Star:

Understanding of ECU reprogramming procedures

Working knowledge of our Clients vehicle electrical architectures

Can you meet these physical demands?

Non-strenuous with low risk; primarily sedentary with some walking, standing, and carrying of light objects; Adequately lighted, ventilated, and heated area where normal precautions must be observed

What kind of a work environment are you getting into?

Work is generally performed within a normal office environment using standard office equipment; Moderate noise typical of a business office; Travel for company business required to attend off-site meetings, etc.; May require early morning, night and weekend work assignments; Interaction with contracted providers, staff and vendors by phone and face-to-face will be constant and may be interruptive; Work may be stressful at times.
