Job summary

The Source in Houston, TX is seeking a Diagnostic Sonographer to provide OB/GYN ultrasound services in a compassionate, patient-centered environment. You will perform first-trimester scans to assess fetal viability, gestational age, and anatomy, while supporting patients with accurate information and referrals.

The role requires current credentials as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, OB/GYN experience preferred, and the ability to work with several ultrasound platforms.

Qualifications

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with current credentials.
• 2+ years of obstetrics experience preferred.
• Able to operate multiple ultrasound brands and perform transvaginal and abdominal scans.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and responsible.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound exams for obstetric patients per protocol.

Are you a skilled Sonographer who wants to use your clinical expertise in a role where compassion and patient support matter just as much as technical skill? Do you value creating an atmosphere of warmth and compassion while helping women during important moments in their pregnancy?

The Source is seeking a Sonographer to provide ultrasound services to patients in their first trimester of pregnancy.

The Sonographer is responsible for providing an initial scan to determine fetal viability, including IUP, cardiac activity, and gestational age. The Sonographer will also perform a scan for someone who is late to care if indicated by the clinician and provide proof of pregnancy, support, and resource information to patients as needed.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

• Perform ultrasound exams for new and returning patients per protocol.
• Educate patients about fetal development, gestational age, and fetal anatomy visualized through ultrasound.
• Assist in maintaining ultrasound log and other procedure logs.
• Communicate additional patient referral needs to provide continuity of care.
• Follow guidelines in Policy & Procedure manual regarding emergency procedures, safety and infection control, clinical systems, ultrasound protocols and patient education.
• Assist in ordering needed medical supplies.
• Provide patients accurate information about abortion, parenting, and adoption and tell them about support resources provided by The Source.
• Crosstrain in other area of the clinic to provide backup when needed.
• Offer support, material, and referrals appropriate to patient’s situation.
• Coordinate appropriate follow up with patients according to the policies and guidelines of The Source.
• Keep current on information in The Source’s referral system.
• Maintain patient records as indicated in clinic policies and guidelines.
• Create an atmosphere of warmth and compassion.
• Attend staff meetings.
• Assist in special events, Source 101's and church presentations as needed.
• Expected to attend and volunteer at The Source's local major fund-raising event every year. Strongly preferred to attend and volunteer at The Source's second major fund-raising event as well.
• Establish positive working relationships with staff members and volunteers.
• Other duties, as assigned.

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with current credentials, required.
• 2+ year of experience in obstetrics, preferred.
• Able to operate various brands of ultrasound equipment and confident performing both transvaginal and abdominal ultrasound.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred.
• Have experience with Microsoft Office computer applications.
• Be self-motivated, dependable, and responsible.
• Exhibit strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.
