Job summary

Cogent Analytics' client, a family-owned truck and trailer repair shop, is seeking a Heavy-Duty Diesel Diagnostic Service Technician for offsite road service and onsite repairs. You will diagnose and repair heavy‑duty trucks and trailers, work with OEM diagnostic tools, and maintain clear records.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in heavy‑duty diagnostics/road service, a valid Class A license (preferred), strong mechanical skills, and a commitment to safety and punctuality.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience as a heavy-duty diesel technician.
• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing heavy‑duty vehicles and performing road service.
• Valid driver's license required; Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform offsite and onsite diagnostic and repair work on heavy‑duty commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and maintain aftertreatment systems, engine lights, A/C, electrical, and lighting.
• Use OEM diagnostic software and tools (Cummins, PACCAR, Snap-on, JPRO, ECT) to identify issues.
• Keep accurate work records and communicate with fleet managers or clients.
• Follow safety protocols and company procedures.
• Maintain punctuality and professionalism at all times.

Our client is a family-owned and operated truck and trailer repair shop specializing in dedicated fleet maintenance, with a focus on the car hauling industry. They are fully equipped to handle all aspects of heavy-duty repair, offering top-tier diagnostic tools and a professional, supportive work environment.

Our client is seeking a qualified Heavy-Duty (Class A) Diesel Diagnostic Service Technician to perform diagnostic and road service work for commercial vehicles. The technician will handle offsite road service calls as well as onsite repairs, professionally diagnosing and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This role includes working with aftertreatment systems, engine diagnostics, air conditioning, electrical systems, and lighting.

Responsibilities:

• Perform offsite and onsite diagnostic and repair work on heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and maintain aftertreatment systems, engine check/stop engine lights, air conditioning, electrical, and lighting systems.
• Utilize OEM diagnostic software and tools (Cummins, PACCAR, Snap-on, JPRO, ECT) to efficiently identify and resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and communicate with fleet managers or clients as needed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures.
• Maintain punctuality and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A driver’s license (Preferred)
• Proven experience as a heavy-duty diesel technician, including diagnostic and road service experience. (At least 5 years of experience)
• Ability to professionally and efficiently diagnose and repair a wide range of heavy-duty vehicle issues.
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical skills.
• Valid Driver License

$40 - $45 an hour
