Job description

Job Summary: Radiologic Technologists are responsible for administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform a full range of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, acquire and analyze data for diagnosis at the request of licensed practitioners, and independently perform or assist in these procedures. They also prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure, adhering to federal and state laws, regulations, and institutional policies.

Job Duties
  1. Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared, clinical history is documented while respecting confidentiality.
  2. Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, maximize patient safety, and apply ALARA principles.
  3. Prepare and/or administer medications through vascular access sites as prescribed.
  4. Evaluate images for proper positioning and quality; verify archival storage and data transfer, including post-processing if applicable.
  5. Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
  6. Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures.
  7. Perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures outside of Radiology, such as in Operating Room, Endoscopy, ICU, etc.

Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. The role requires meeting all job-specific obligations and complying with organizational policies. Additional department-specific competencies may be required.

Position Details
  • New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months of hire.
  • Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps to advance to level 2 within 24 months.
Education
  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required).
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field (Preferred).
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience (Preferred).
Certifications and Licenses
  • Radiography (R) - ARRT.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
