Job summary

Geisinger is seeking an X-ray Tech I to perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures under licensed supervision. New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months and may advance to level 2 within 24 months based on performance.

The Radiologic Technologist will administer and document medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal/state laws. Training and education of students are part of the role in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• ARRT-R registry within 6 months of hire.
• Advancement to level 2 within 24 months for eligible hires.
• Experience with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain correct order, identify patient, and document clinical history per protocol.
• Apply imaging protocols while maximizing patient safety per ALARA.
• Administer medications via vascular access as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluate images for quality and ensure data transfer/archival.
• Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
• Assist licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
• Perform radiographic and non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures in various locations (OR, ICU, etc.).
