MedStar Health is expanding its Nighthawk Radiology Division and seeks Diagnostic Radiologists for evening and overnight remote coverage. This fully remote role is open to candidates across the United States.

Base compensation is $600,000 annually, with potential to earn up to $150,000+ through shifts and incentives. The position offers academic and clinical opportunities, with robust remote workflow support and a collegial team.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Radiology.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia.
• Fellowship training preferred.
• Must maintain licensure in the state from which readings are performed.

Responsibilities

• Final interpretations for after-hours CT and ultrasound studies.
• Some X-ray coverage with occasional MRI interpretation.
• Preliminary reads utilized during high-volume periods or complex cases.
• Collaborative shared coverage model for after-hours provider and technologist questions.
• Expected productivity of 9–10 RVUs per hour, with incentives for higher productivity.

Education

Board-certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Radiology

Medical licensure in MD, DC, VA

Fellowship training preferred

Base Compensation: $600,000 annually with up to $150,000+ in additional earnings through extra shifts and incentives.

This is a fully remote position open to candidates located anywhere in the United States.

Position Highlights

• Academic and clinical opportunities available

• 24/7 call center support for critical results reporting
• 7- or 8-hour shifts
• Preliminary reads utilized during high-volume periods or complex cases

• Expected productivity of 9–10 RVUs per hour, with incentives for higher productivity

Schedule Options

Compared with many emergency radiology practices, our shifts are designed to support work-life balance with shorter overnight coverage blocks, typically 8 hours.

Overnight Schedule

• Approximately 17 working weeks annually
• 1 week on / 2 weeks off rotation
• Monday–Sunday: 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

Evening Schedule

• Approximately 23 working weeks annually
• Periodic 3-week breaks built into the schedule
• Monday–Friday: 5:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
• Saturday–Sunday: 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Hybrid Evening/Overnight Schedule

• Weekdays: 12:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Weekends: 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

• Coverage across multiple hospitals and urgent care centers throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia
• Includes coverage for a Level I Trauma Center
