Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures that support patient care, education, and clinical research within an academic health system.

You will collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and fellow technologists to deliver high-quality imaging, adhere to safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement of imaging services in a Magnet-recognized environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited JRC program in Radiography.
• Associate’s Degree in Radiography preferred.
• ARRT registered radiologic technologist required.
• AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
• Virginia Driver’s License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations using established protocols to ensure image quality, patient safety, and diagnostic accuracy
• Prepare, position, and educate patients to support comfort, cooperation, and optimal imaging outcomes
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring adherence to radiation safety standards and departmental quality guidelines
• Apply clinical judgment to adapt positioning and technique based on patient condition and clinical indication

The Role

Experience: No experience required

Licensure: Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) must be accomplished prior to planned start date. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Valid Virginia Driver’s License (VADL) may be required.

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive); Repetitive motion: (computer keyboard). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $30.13 - $48.21 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
