Responsibilities

• Perform general diagnostic radiography, fluoroscopy, portable radiography, portable fluoroscopy, and operating room imaging.
• Prepare and administer contrast materials under radiologist direction (e.g., GI studies, venograms, cystograms, arthrography).
• Accurately operate imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure.
• Record radiation dose data for fluoroscopy and portable fluoroscopy exams.
• Review, validate, and process radiology orders in CPRS/VistA.
• Register, complete, cancel, and edit imaging exams in VA systems.
• Perform imaging studies according to urgency (STAT, urgent, routine, pre-op).
• Ensure image quality, repeat/reject analysis, and compliance with departmental quality thresholds.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure images are properly uploaded to PACS.
• Follow infection control, sterile technique, radiation safety, and VA safety policies.
• Assist radiologists/physicians during procedures and anticipate procedural needs.
• Identify patients correctly and ensure proper image labeling and documentation.
• Monitor equipment functionality and report malfunctions.
• Adjust exam techniques based on patient condition, body habitus, and clinical need.

Main Street White River Junction, VT 05009. Multiple shift schedules available.
