The Veterans Health Administration's John D. Dingell VA Medical Center seeks a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist-CT to perform CT imaging across head, neck, spine, chest and body. You will work within the Diagnostic Imaging Service with radiologists to deliver high-quality examinations.

The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist- Computer Tomography (DRT-CT) is assigned to the Diagnostic Imaging Service at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center. This position requires computerized tomography of the head, neck, spine, chest and body.

These exams are achieved by using diagnostic x-ray equipment such as fluoroscopic units, the chest unit and general diagnostic units and portable units.

Duties include but are not limited to the following: Schedules exams in a manner so as to optimize scanner times while maintaining flexibility for emergency cases Confers with radiologists to determine requirement of non-standard exams. Performs CT angiography, including spine, head and neck studies utilizing highly sophisticated x-ray equipment such as computerized fluoroscopy, pressure injectors, patient monitors, etc.

Works with the radiologist as a member of the surgical/radiographic team. Prepares contrast materials that are used in CT/angiography and other exams. Practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self. Maintains records and files of exams performed on patients in the computerized information system. Responsible for stocking inventory of all CT supplies and related materials.

Work Schedule: Week 1- Tuesday, Wednesday, & Saturday 7:00AM-7:00PM Week 2- Sunday, Monday, & Thursday 7:00AM-7:00PM Friday 7:00AM-3:00PM -Schedule is subject to change based off of clinic needs. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).

Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.

Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
