Responsibilities

• Administers, directs, and organizes the entire program.
• Formulates curriculum and writes outlines for all professional courses.
• Previews and critiques instructor lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Arranges with clinical affiliates for practical experiences.
• Directs classes and demonstrations in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Coordinates pre-professional curriculum with other departments.
• Assigns adjunct faculty as required.
• Evaluates curriculum and revises as needed.
• Selects textbooks and recommends library materials.
• Participates in student recruitment and selection for the program.
• Evaluates academic and clinical progress of students.
• Liaisons with university officials and represents the program externally.
• Conducts regular faculty meetings and affiliation visits.
• Counsels and advises students in the program.
• Assists in developing the program budget and purchasing.
• Maintains academic records of current and former students.
• Handles correspondence for the program.
• Represents the program at state and local meetings.
• Develops policies and procedures for the professional program.
• Serves on university and college committees as needed.
• Makes job recommendations and assists in graduate placement.
• Writes grant applications and progress reports.
• Develops continuing education programs.
