Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and graduation from a DMS program.
  • Must be registered as a Diagnostic Sonographer within one year of hire.
  • Abdomen and OB registries required within a specified timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of ultrasound studies per the collaborating provider and Radiologist's request.
  • Requires rotational after-hour/weekend and holiday call coverage.
  • Assist in procedures like renal biopsies and sonohysterograms.

Summary of Job Duties: The General Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible to perform quality ultrasound images for medical interpretation within the UAMS hospital and Radiology department. This position requires rotational after hour/weekend and holiday call coverage.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED PLUS Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program

  • Registered Diagnostic Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer within one year of hire.

  • Abdomen and OB registries are required within a set time from the hire date.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a wide variety or ultrasound studies in collaboration with the ordering provider and reading Radiologists requests.

  • Requires rotational after hour/weekend and holiday call coverage.

  • Works closely with Radiologists in order to provide needed information to make an accurate diagnosis.

  • Assists physicians in such procedures as renal biopsies, sonohysterograms and Lumason enhancement studies.

  • Joins alongside the academic achievement of students, residents and fellows.
