Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to deliver high-quality imaging and patient-centered care. You will perform ultrasound exams across abdominal, pelvic, OB, vascular and other areas, acting as a clinical resource for staff.

Responsibilities include maintaining ALARA radiation safety, producing accurate images, and communicating results and patient information effectively. The role requires ARDMS/ARRT certifications and BLS, with preferred degrees and ultrasound

Qualifications

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will provide quality patient care and perform high-quality images and exams, acting as a clinical resource and role model for unit personnel.

Every day you will maintain sensitivity to patient needs, demonstrate leadership abilities, and assure current standards of practice for the unit, contributing to the overall excellence of the medical imaging department.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong technical proficiency in medical sonography, a commitment to patient-centered care and quality imaging, and the ability to serve as a resource for best practices within the unit.

• Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures including, but not limited to, abdominal, pelvic, OB, head, extremity, retro peritoneal, small parts and vascular.

• May perform cardiac procedures as required by entity.

• Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to “as low as reasonably achievable” (ALARA).

• Produces quality images in a complete, accurate and timely manner.

• Provides information and instruction to patient and/or family regarding the procedure and responds to their physical and emotional needs.

• Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports/documents unusual occurrences and records patient’s condition.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma/G.E.D

• ARDMS registered RDMS(OB/GYN) or (AB) or (BR); or ARRT registered R.T.(S)(ARRT) or R.T.(S)(BS)(ARRT)ARDMS registered RVT(VT) or ARRT registered R.T.(S)(VS)(ARRT);or ARDMS registered RDCS(AE) or (PE) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS)

• BLS through American Heart Association

Preferred

• Associate's Degree

• Bachelor's Degree

• One (1) year of ultrasound experience

• For the state of UT: LRT

Pay Range

$38.34 - $63.26 /hour
