Job summary

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our Medical Imaging team. You will perform routine and emergency ultrasound exams, document results, and support interventional procedures.

The role emphasizes high-quality patient care, rapid prioritization, and collaboration with multiple imaging specialties. Ideal candidates hold an accredited ultrasound program, CMRI TO registration, Sonography Canada credential, and BCLS.

Qualifications

  • Must have accredited ultrasound degree or post-diploma program.
  • Current registration with CMRITO in good standing.
  • Credentialed member of Sonography Canada.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency ultrasound procedures and document high-quality images (abdominal, OB/GYN, small parts).
  • Work with musculoskeletal, neurosonography, vascular imaging; assist in interventional procedures if needed.
  • Operate, troubleshoot ultrasound and imaging equipment; ensure efficient performance.
  • Prepare written/electronic reports documenting procedures and results.
  • Work across all shifts including standby; support department workflow.

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - (23872)

RVH is seeking a DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHER to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our program, you will play a crucial role in all aspects of sonography within our Medical Imaging team. Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited degree/post diploma Ultrasound program, or recognized equivalent.
  • Registered in good standing with College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  • Current credentialed member of Sonography Canada.
  • Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) program.

  • Perform routine and emergency procedures in accordance with established methods as described in departmental Policies and Procedures manuals, while documenting high quality images. Including but not limited to abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts.
  • Experience in musculoskeletal, neurosonography, vascular imaging, as well as assisting in interventional procedures an asset.
  • Operate, troubleshoot and ensure ultrasound, medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Prepare written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results.
  • Ability to work all shifts including standby.
  • Demonstrated commitment to be an integral part of the diagnostic imaging team to ensure smooth workflow within the department as well between the department and other departments in the hospital.
