Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to perform high quality diagnostic imaging with optimal patient care under the direction of the Manager and Director of Diagnostic Imaging.

This role requires graduation from an AMA-accredited School of Radiological Technology, ARRT certification (and ARRT membership), and current BCLS within 30 days of hire. You will follow hospital policies, maintain equipment quality control, and support efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities

PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

• Position Objective: The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, in support and at the direction of the Manager and Director of Diagnostic Imaging, and in collaboration with the Medical Director performs high quality diagnostic imaging with optimal patient care. The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist works effectively to continually promote and sustain a high preforming, professional, and efficient department while ensuring continuous quality care, patient and staff satisfaction and safety, and optimal patient access.

  Scheduled to perform as a Radiologic Technologist at least 80% of their work time.

• Performance Expectation:

  • To ensure high quality diagnostic imaging
    • Follow all hospital policies and procedures.
    • Achieve and maintain comprehensive competency skills for all equipment used.
    • Perform all quality control measures to assure equipment is functioning properly.
    • Keep current with the latest technology, trends, and best practice.
    • Consistently produce high quality images.
  • To support optimal Patient Care
    • Clean and prep exam rooms after every patient procedure.
    • Complete proper patient identification prior to every patient procedure.
    • Adjust equipment for each examination, position and instruct patients, and determine proper voltage, current and desired exposure time for each radiograph using A.L.A.R.A principles.
    • Use immobilization and support devices to obtain precise patient positioning and lessen patient discomfort.
    • Continually assess processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Maintains a smooth and orderly flow of patients through the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
    • Equitable participation in the on-call rotation, as applicable.

      • American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT)
      • American College of Radiology (ACR)
      • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)

    • Provide input and support for department and hospital goals and initiatives.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
