Job summary

Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, VA is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Technical Lead (X-ray and CT) for full-time evening shift Mon–Thu 4:00pm–2:30am with on-call rotation. This role offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

The Technical Lead will supervise technologists, ensure patient safety, stay current with imaging technology, coordinate orientations and training, and support scheduling to maintain department productivity. A strong background in radiography and CT is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school/program in radiography, Nuclear Medicine or MRI certification.
• BLS certification required; certified by ARRT/RDMS/RVT/ARMRIT/CAMRT/NMTCB; Mammo certification as applicable.
• Minimum 3 years imaging experience in a hospital/healthcare setting with recent hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Administers sound patient care practices per department policies to ensure safety and growth.
• Demonstrates radiation protection for patients, staff, and self per protocols.
• Oversees team performance, manages scheduling, and escalates issues to leadership.
• Obtains clinical history to assist physicians in optimizing examinations.
• Coordinates orientation/training for new staff and students; supports scheduling.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Diagnostic Imaging Technical Lead Job Responsibilities

• The Diagnostic Imaging Technical Lead administers sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies/procedures to ensure patient safety, and demonstrates an initiative to stay abreast of current technology and show evidence of professional growth.
• Demonstrates radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self, as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Oversees and assists team members in assigned functional area, ensuring the team is meeting key deliverables and quality standards, addressing and resolving challenges, managing and tracking performance, and assisting in time management and scheduling; escalates issues to senior leaders as needed.
• Obtains clinical history/informed consent from patients or patients' charts to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination, as evidenced by the exam results.
• Coordinates new team member and student department orientation/training. Assists with patient and team member scheduling to enhance the productivity of the department.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school/program of radiography, Nuclear Medicine or MRI certification from ARMRIT or CAMRT, or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required upon start. Must also be certified by at least one of ARRT, RDMS, RVT, ARMRIT, CAMRT or NMTCB; additional certification in an applicable imaging modality (e.g., Mammo) required – as applicable.
• Experience: Three years of imaging experience in an applicable modality (X‑Ray, Ultrasound, CT, Mammography, MRI, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine) in a hospital/healthcare environment with recent hospital experience.
