Qualifications

• ARRT Diagnostic Radiology certification is required
• State licensure is preferred, depending on state
• BLS from American Heart Association is required at hire for some Mercy locations
• 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care is preferred
• Experience with Radiology Information System is preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and ensure documentation is available for practitioners
• Position and immobilize patient to optimize image quality and comfort
• Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure
• Perform radiographic procedures using imaging equipment
• Verify consent and complete pre/post procedure documentation
• Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and radiographic procedures; maintain aseptic technique
• Perform timeout as required
• Identify, prepare and/or administer medications/contrast as prescribed
