Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Casual Diagnostic Imaging Assistant to support technologists in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This 0.0 FTE role involves day/evening shifts and occasional weekends in New Ulm, MN, with duties ranging from patient screening to scheduling exams and coordinating with physicians.

Responsibilities include handling imaging prep, ensuring proper data management in the EMR, and assisting with transport and room setup, while maintaining compliance and patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association preferred.
• Current BLS certification from American Red Cross preferred.
• Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire.

• Communicates physician requests to department staff.
• Coordinates workflow with clinics, service departments and physicians.
• Prioritizes customer needs.
• Provides information on exam preps, arrival times, and special needs.
• Keeps leadership informed of issues or concerns.
• Assists technologist in delivering patient care.
• Screens patients for exam.
• Delivers imaging supplies and transports patients.
• Distributes completed exam to radiologist for interpretation.
• Restocks and prepares exam room for procedures.
• Manages image data and EMR documentation.
• Ensures secure access to patient information.

Job Description

• Serves as link between physicians, clinics and service departments
• Enters orders and schedules exams as needed.
• Communicates physician requests to appropriate department staff.
• Coordinates workflow with Clinics, service departments and physicians.
• Prioritizes customer needs.
• Provides information regarding special instructions, exam preps, arrival times or special needs.
• Keeps leadership advised of any issues or concerns.
• Assists Technologist in delivering patient care
• Screens patients for exam.
• Delivers necessary imaging supplies.
• Transports, transfers and positioning of patient.
• Distributes completed exam to radiologist for interpretation.
• Restocks and prepares exam room for procedures.
• Provides image and data management
• Ensures secure and appropriate access of patient information .
• Documents image data release in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Demonstrates knowledge of the electronic storage and retrieval system (EMI).
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or GED

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross
• Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Physical Demands

Medium Work*: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $17.45 to $23.77 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work. Allina Health is committed to adhering with all applicable local, state and federal minimum wage requirements.
