J.J.'s is seeking qualified Automotive Technicians in Waldorf, MD. You will perform diagnostics, engine and transmission repairs, and work on a wide range of vehicles from Acura to Jaguar.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• ASE certifications or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• 5+ years of mechanical knowledge with proof.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record in past 3 years.
• Ownership of toolbox and investment in personal tools.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Comfort working on a wide range of vehicles from varying manufacturers.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in changing environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform automotive repairs related to engines and transmissions.
• Diagnose systems including engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, electrical and HVAC.
• Interpret fault codes and determine root cause.
• Perform basic repairs during high-volume times (tires, brakes, oil changes).
• Complete digital inspection reports with clear, full-sentence explanations.
• Monitor repair times and update service advisor of changes.
• Discuss repairs with foreman and service advisors.
• Use computer and mobile device without distraction.
• Interact with customers and greet them professionally.

Qualifications:

• 5+ Years of Mechanical knowledge w/ proof of background
• Valid Driver's License (No accidents, personal or business-related in the past 3 years)
• Ownership of Toolbox and investment of personally owned tools
• Computer knowledge and usability
• Must be able to lift up to 75lbs
• Knowledge and comfort working on a wide range of vehicles from varying automotive manufactures
• Mobility to stand for extended periods of time, work with hands over your head for extensive periods, twisting, turning, laying down, and consistently moving positions in changing climates.

Responsibilities: As a Level-A Technician, you are one of the most essential parts of our team. Through your diagnostics and repairs, you not only keep customers on the road, but you also keep them informed too. This helps us build a brand that people trust and ensures we all have a positive atmosphere. We need your help to determine what's wrong with the vehicles that are being driven or towed. Additionally, we need your help to get them back on the road, quickly. At J.J.'s we service a wide variety of vehicles too, from Acura to Jaguar and your flexibility with the comfort of working on these different systems is greatly needed. It is important that we treat each car differently and repair them properly, so they last for years to come. Additionally, your inspections, diagnostics, and recommendations help to provide the rest of the team at J.J.'s with work that they need too! Your knowledge and skill level are greatly appreciated here and we know we couldn't do what we do here without you. We inspire a work area that allows everyone to work together to use our knowledge to help other members too. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Perform automotive repairs related to internal engine and transmission systems
• Diagnose automotive systems such as Engines (Gasoline), Transmissions, Suspension, Steering, Brakes, Electrical, and HVAC
• Ability to interpret fault codes and find root-cause failure
• Ability to perform basic repairs such as on tires, brakes, and oil changes during high volume times.
• Complete digital inspection reports for clients that require full sentences and explanation
• Monitor repair time and update the service advisor of any changes
• Discuss repairs with the shop foreman and service advisors
• Usage of computer and personal cellphone without distraction
• Customer Interaction / Greeting
• Guaranteed Salary Starting @ $100k
• Tech Hourly Pay Starting @ $45hr
• Adjusting Pay Scale to reflect a higher Tech-Hour Pay Rate, if a total of wrench hours are turned. This will be added and added to the guaranteed salary.
• Additional Commission/Compensation for recommendation on qualified sold repairs
