Texas A&M University Health Science Center seeks a Diabetes & Obesity Program Assistant in Victoria, TX. This staff role supports program activities, outreach, and community sites with non-clinical navigation and data collection. Some travel and flexible hours are required.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and relevant certifications or the ability to obtain them within six months. English/Spanish bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• DSHS CHW certification or able to complete within six months of employment.
• ADCES Diabetes Community Care Coordinator certification or able to complete within six months of employment.
• English/Spanish bilingual preferred; two years in public health, health outreach, education a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-clinical navigation and support to participants.
• Collect and record biometric measures per training and protocols.
• Educate participants about program services, appointments, and resources.
• Coordinate program activities, outreach events, classes, workshops, and community sites.
• Maintain program documentation and data for reports and evaluation.
• Coordinate logistics for meetings, travel, and outreach events.
