Providence Medford OBGYN Health Center is seeking a part-time Diabetes Educator to educate clients with diabetes across the lifespan. Duties include assessment, plan development, implementation, and evaluation of education in classroom or outpatient settings, in collaboration with RNs and RDs.

The role emphasizes addressing psychosocial, economic, and language barriers, with professional development and community outreach being integral to practice.

Formación

• Oregon Dietitian License required at hire.
• CDR Registered Dietitian required at hire.
• Three years of diabetes education experience in the last 2 years.
• Experience applying adult learning theory to diabetes education.
• Experience with clinical management of diabetes.

Diabetes Educator at Providence Medford- OBGYN Health Center and Providence Medical Group Stewart Meadows

This position is part-time, 24 hours per week and a Day Schedule

The diabetes educator provides education for clients with diabetes of all ages according to the individualized needs of the client. This process involves a health and education assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of an education plan, taking into account psychosocial, economic, and language barriers. Duties are performed in a classroom or individual outpatient setting in collaboration with a team of RNs & RDs. The candidate accepts professional development and community outreach as an integral part of professional practice.

Required Qualifications:

• Oregon Dietitian License upon hire.
• National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration upon hire.
• Three (3) years experience in treatment and education of diabetes within the last 2 years.
• Experience with current adult learning theory in relation to diabetes education.
• Experience with the clinical management of diabetes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Formal coursework or credentials in principles of adult learning theory and patient-centered learning.
• Certification in Diabetes Education, or willingness to attain CDE certification upon hire
• Experience with diverse ethnic groups.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Pay Range: $37.39 - $58.05
