Job summary

UTHealth Houston seeks a leader to manage and evaluate the comprehensive diabetes self‑care education program. You will oversee a multidisciplinary team delivering education and direct patient care across in-person and telemedicine formats.

The ideal candidate has deep diabetes education expertise, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to quality improvement within a hybrid clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary diabetes education teams.
• Knowledge of ADA recognition program and quality improvement.
• Strong leadership and people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee diabetes education program implementation and evaluation.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver diabetes self‑care education.
• Provide direct patient care including education on devices and medications.
• Ensure compliance with ADA recognition and Medicare documentation.
• Prepare reports and support grant proposals.
• Recruit, hire, and mentor department staff.
