Job summary

ProCare Therapy seeks a dedicated Deaf/Hard of Hearing educator to support high school students for the full school year. This contract role offers about 20 hours per week in a collaborative school setting, focusing on individualized instruction and inclusive practices.

You'll assess needs, develop IEPs, and partner with teachers, families, and support staff to ensure students thrive academically and socially through advocacy and adapting to hearing loss considerations.

Qualifications

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
  • Expertise in supporting students with varying degrees of hearing loss.
  • Experience working with high school-aged students preferred.
  • Proficiency with assistive listening devices and adaptive technology.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver customized instruction to high school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Assess student needs and create individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to implement accommodations.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Advocate for student inclusion and accessibility within the school community.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and relevant staff development.

Job description
