Job summary

Tekvana Inc. seeks a DGSun Engineer in Orlando (preferred) or remote to drive development in Progression/5 (BBx/Pro/5) and BBj across integrations and custom code bases. You will work from specifications in a formal SDLC and leverage SQL Server for troubleshooting.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of hands-on experience with the listed technologies, including system-to-system integrations and knowledge of related logging platforms for diagnostics.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of development using Progression/5 (BBx/Pro/5) and BBj.
• Active feature development with ~80% new work and ~20% production support.
• BBj used for integrations, not GUI interfaces.
• Integrations in/out of Pro/5 systems (HTTP/XML/RPC).
• Ability to learn a custom codebase not authored by the candidate.
• Work from explicit specifications within a formal SDLC.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and creating SQL queries for troubleshooting.

Title DGSun Engineer

Location - Orlando FL(Preferred). Remote is also fine. But look for FL profiles.

Required

• 1. 10+ years recent development experience specifically with the Basis International languages of Progression/5 (BBx, Pro/5) and Business Basic for Java (BBj) A. Recent: They are actively developing in these technologies and have been for 10+ years B. Development experience means 80% of time actively adding new features / capabilities vs break fix or small enhancements from production support issues C. Current usage of BBj is to support integrations not graphical user interfaces
• 2. Experience with Integrations in/out a Pro/5 system (ie: http, XML, RPC)
• 3. Demonstrated experience with learning a custom code base they didn’t develop
• 4. Experience developing based on specifications developed by others and working in a formal SDLC environment
• 5. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and creating SQL queries to assist with troubleshooting

Optional/Plus

• 1. (Plus) Experience in Hospitality / Vacation Ownership industry
• 2. (Plus) Development experience with both Progression/5 and BBj enabling system-to-system integrations.
• 3. (Plus) Unix/Linux shell scripting experience
• 4. (Optional) Experience with other Business Basic variants such as Thoroughbred BASIC, ProvideX (now PxPlus), MAI OpenBasic.
• 5. (Optional) Experience using external logging platforms for troubleshooting - Splunk / Dynatrace
