Job summary

CTG is seeking an experienced DGSun/BBj & Pro/5 Application Engineer in Armonk, NY, for a 6-month engagement. You will design, develop, and support enterprise applications, maintain Pro/5 components, and modernize BBj-based solutions while integrating with enterprise systems and databases.

You will also implement modern development practices, contribute to DevOps efforts, and collaborate across teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions using Java and related technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in application development, with significant experience supporting enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience with DGSun BBj and/or Pro/5 is required.
• Experience with Java/JEE and web technologies in an enterprise environment.
• Experience integrating applications with enterprise systems and databases.
• Experience supporting production applications, troubleshooting defects, and implementing enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications using the DGSun, BBj, and Pro/5 technology stack.
• Develop and maintain applications, business logic, interfaces, and integrations supporting enterprise business processes.
• Analyze application requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Maintain and enhance existing Pro/5 applications while supporting modernization and migration initiatives involving BBj and related technologies.
• Develop and support web-based applications and integrations using Java and related web technologies.
• Implement application components utilizing object-oriented programming, dependency injection, inversion of control, and other modern development practices.
• Integrate applications with enterprise systems, databases, APIs, and other technology platforms.
• Troubleshoot application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions.
• Participate in application testing, debugging, code reviews, and deployment activities.
• Support DevOps practices, including source control, automated testing, build processes, and application deployment.
• Develop technical documentation and contribute to application standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties:

Skills:

• Strong experience with DGSun BBj and Pro/5 application development and support.
• Proficiency with Java and enterprise Java/web technologies.
• Experience with web application development, APIs, and enterprise application integration.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming and modern application development principles.
• Knowledge of dependency injection, inversion of control, aspect-oriented programming, and functional programming concepts.
• Experience with data access frameworks, transaction management, and batch processing.
• Familiarity with test-driven development and automated testing methodologies.
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of DevOps methodologies, source control, CI/CD, and application deployment processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an enterprise IT environment.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in application development, with significant experience supporting enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience with DGSun BBj and/or Pro/5 is required.
• Experience with Java/JEE and web technologies in an enterprise environment.
• Experience integrating applications with enterprise systems and databases.
• Experience supporting production applications, troubleshooting defects, and implementing enhancements.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices is preferred.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
