LAZ Parking in Dallas/Fort Worth area seeks a Senior Bus Maintenance Technician (A Level) to diagnose and repair diesel, CNG, gasoline, and EV powertrains. You will mentor junior techs, lead complex jobs to root-cause, and uphold airport standards.

Role includes advanced training on HV systems, EV platforms, and fuel tech. Strong diagnostic skills and CDL-B alignment within 90 days are expected, with safety practices at the core.

Qualifications

• ASE certifications: two or more of H-series (Transit Bus) or T-series (Medium/Heavy Truck) required; Master preferred.
• EV high-voltage and/or hybrid powertrain experience preferred; CNG certification strongly preferred.
• Cummins ISB engine and Allison transmission diagnostic experience preferred.
• Class B CDL with passenger endorsement (or ability to obtain within 90 days) paid by company.
• Safety-first attitude; follow lockout/tagout and HV safety procedures.
• Proficiency with Fleetio/Samsara or similar shop software.

Responsibilities

Senior Bus Maintenance Technician (A Level)

About LAZ/ECO at DFW: EcoFleet is a leading fleet management company specializing in commercial and airport fleet operations, providing maintenance, leasing, washing, and fueling services nationwide. In joint venture with LAZ Parking, EcoFleet operates the stand-alone maintenance division supporting the consolidated bussing services contract at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) - a fleet of approximately 195 transit buses, cutaways, and support vehicles across CNG, diesel, gasoline, and EV platforms. Position description: A-level technicians are senior shop-based technicians responsible for advanced diagnostics and repair across the DFW bus fleet - heavy transit (Cummins ISB/CNG), medium-duty cutaways, and EV platforms. A-level technicians mentor B- and C-level technicians, lead complex jobs to root-cause resolution, and are the technical backbone of each shift.

General responsibilities

• * Perform advanced diagnostics and repair of diesel, CNG, gasoline, and EV powertrains, air brake systems, suspensions, HVAC, aftertreatment/exhaust, and multiplexed electrical systems.
• * Lead root-cause repair on repeat failures (e.g., coolant leaks, no-starts, alarm conditions) so buses return to service fixed, not patched.
• * Perform and quality-check DOT/TxDMV inspections and PM inspections (PMA/PMI cycles) to LAZ/EcoFleet and airport standards.
• * Operate vehicle lifts, tire changing and balancing equipment, and shop tools safely and efficiently.
• * Utilize a company-supplied laptop and Fleetio VMS for diagnostics, service writing, work-order documentation, and online training; document all repairs accurately and on time.
• * Mentor B- and C-level technicians; collaborate with team members to maximize repair efficiency and quality.
• * Provide direct feedback to management to improve repair procedures; attend meetings with internal management and airport stakeholders as requested.
• * Work with parts staff and local suppliers to obtain parts, up to and including picking up parts when necessary.
• * Maintain a clean, safe working environment; ensure cleanliness of vehicles during service; respond promptly to road-call support requests.
• * Execute duties with adaptability to changing circumstances including emergencies, workload fluctuations, urgent tasks, and new technology.

Qualifications

• * ASE certifications: two or more of H-series (Transit Bus) or T-series (Medium/Heavy Truck) required; A4-A7 a plus. ASE Master (H or T) preferred.
• * EV high-voltage and/or hybrid powertrain experience preferred; CNG fuel system certification (CSA/NGV) strongly preferred.
• * Cummins ISB engine and Allison transmission diagnostic experience preferred.
• * Class B CDL with passenger endorsement (or ability to obtain within 90 days - company paid) to move and road-test buses.
• * Evidence of a safety-first attitude; ability to follow lockout/tagout and HV safety procedures.
• * Proficiency in fundamental computer skills (web, Excel, Word); Fleetio, Samsara, or comparable shop software preferred.
• * Valid U.S. driver's license; must pass a federal background check and DFW airport badging requirements.

Education and experience

• * 5+ years of heavy/medium-duty fleet or transit technician experience (or 3+ years with ASE Master).
• * High school diploma or equivalent; trade school training a plus.
