Job Title: DevSecOps Lead / Architect / System Architect

Work Location: Remote / On-premise for some meetings in Frankfort, KY

Job Description

The System Architect will oversee the application and system development efforts of the division, working with project managers, developers, and business analysts to design and enhance applications and databases.

Familiarity with IRS Publication 1075, NIST 800-53, and systems handling Federal Tax Information is a plus. This is a long-term, multi-year position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure DevSecOps and Zero Trust methodologies are followed.
• Modernize application development using segmentation, containerization, microservices, and Zero Trust principles.
• Design and update end-to-end systems with modern coding standards.
• Maintain standards for system consistency and compliance.
• Standardize system design and data structures across supported systems.
• Collaborate with teams and vendors to develop secure, well-documented applications.
• Improve data import/export processes.
• Review and optimize database structures, performance, and normalization.
• Mentor junior developers and database administrators.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, driving successful application development.

Required Skillsets

• 5+ years in DevSecOps application development.
• Experience designing cloud-native systems on Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Security models.
• Experience designing shared services and secure, compliant solutions.
