Job summary

Metron Inc. in Reston, VA is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to secure and improve software delivery across the enterprise. You will embed security, quality, and supply-chain controls into CI/CD workflows, partnering with software development, cybersecurity, and platform teams.

The role focuses on Azure DevOps, Nexus, SonarQube, and Kubernetes/K3s deployment workflows to enable secure, reliable software releases. Occasional after-hours maintenance may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps/DevSecOps, platform engineering, or related role
• Hands-on with Azure DevOps pipelines, YAML, build/release workflows
• Experience implementing security, quality, or compliance controls in CI/CD
• Experience with SAST, SCA, dependency scanning, secrets handling
• Experience troubleshooting CI/CD failures, deployments, or dependencies
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, Helm, or similar deployment tech
• Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
• Ability to write clear technical docs and runbooks
• Eligible to obtain/maintain U.S. security clearance
• Willing to work in regulated, secure environments

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and improve secure CI/CD patterns in Azure DevOps
• Support secure release workflows across dev, test, integration, staging, and prod
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, permissions issues, and release blockers
• Integrate security and quality checks (SAST, SCA, dependencies, secrets) into build/release
• Partner with cybersecurity to align CI/CD controls with standards and audits
• Create documentation, runbooks, and onboarding materials for secure pipelines
